They're still making these?

Epson UK announces the launch of the LQ-690 Dot Matrix Printer, its the fastest 24 pin 106 column flatbed dot matrix printer to date. This is the first Epson model to feature Print Speed Enhancer (PSE), a new technology which enables high speed printing of bit image data in the Windows environment. The new Epson LQ-690 printer will be available in April.

Ideal for the small business environment, the LQ-690’s flatbed compact design has a minimal office footprint and is rich in features with a broad range of potential applications. The printer is extremely easy to use with its simple operation panel, front paper insertion and paper guide ruler. Durable and highly reliable, the LQ-690 also has an outstanding ribbon yield of 10 million characters – saving money as well as reducing maintenance.

Mark Karsey, Business Manager, Epson UK, commented: “For environments where a dot matrix printing solution is the obvious choice – warehouses, wholesalers, banks, post offices and public sector organisations – the new user friendly Epson LQ-690 adds speed and reliability. Impact printing is the ideal solution for printing drafts, high-volume data processing and multi-part stationery making the LQ-690 a superb product choice.”
