Where's Ken?

Ok, going after the Ken doll market might not be such a great idea!

Mattel has announced a new line of Barbie products called "Beautronics" that features a Barbie digital nail printer with thermal inkjet technology. We have seen a few of these nail printers available in different channels. The first saw information about these Printers that print on fingernails on Peter's Blog.

The Barbie Digital Nail Printer connects to your computer and allows you to print custom designs directly onto your nails; it takes only a few seconds and the designs last for days! You can select from 1000s of intricate designs, and even upload your own photos to create a custom manicure perfect for any occasion. The Digital Nail Printer uses thermal inkjet technology and specially-formulated cosmetic grade ink to print directly on the nail surface in full color.

If you look in Alibaba's website for ", you will see around 80 so called manufacturers selling this printable fingernail technology. These nail printers can be as expensive as $7,000 for the professional nail salon and now to Barbie printer which will probably be under $200 bucks.

Top it off Barbie is going to be 50 this year.
