Office Depot reported a net loss of $413 million, or $1.51 a share, in the third quarter ended Sept. 26. In the prior-year period, it reported a loss of $7 million, or 2 cents a share.Sales were down 17 percent, to $3 billion from $3.65 billion a year ago.
Excluding charges, Boca Raton-based Office Depot (NYSE: ODP) reported a loss of $21 million, or 8 cents a share, compared to a loss of $2 million, or a penny a share, one year ago.
