Updated features for the Office Product Cross Reference Tool

Have you ever come across one of those Office Max or Office Depot bids that has their part numbers. Don't know what a 197092 is? Tired of trying to figure out what the product is? Is it a beating to enter one part number at a time on their site? Still having problems figuring out what it cross references to?

We are now in Beta production of an Office Supplies Price Comparison Tool for Dealers and End-Users. There are over 12,000 part numbers cross referenced to Office Max, Office Depot and Staples part numbers, all in one cross reference database.

We think this tool is especially nice for the end-user, which gives the end-user of office supplies a simple tool to compare the top three Office Supplies super stores and their web store prices prices to their contract prices. Everyone out on the internet uses OEM numbers, but on those special contracts, these retailers have been using their internal part numbers.

No one has taking the time to match these numbers up to the OEM number and better yet, cross reference to their competitors.

In recent lawsuits for State agencies regarding overcharging on office supplies, this tool should be a great help for the end-user to check and compare their contract prices with these retailers.

We knew this was coming - Projector Phone

We mentioned this idea in our post when the 3M M Pro110 was introduced. Who will put a projector on or in a cell phone? Well someone has, now you can carry a big screen TV in your pocket.

The new Logic Bolt, created by US-based Logic Wireless (their website is still under construction), makes its debut at the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show this week in Las Vegas.

Where traditional cell phones provide an amazing amount of information which users are forced to view on a tiny screen, now they can display on the wall for everyone to see.

The new Logic Bolt increases screen size by 3000% or more through a built-in projector that casts razor-sharp images onto a wall or screen. A once “one-user” cell phone becomes a device that creates images large enough for a crowd.

Logic Wireless sees endless applications for its new projector phone, including a must-have business tool for the road warrior doing presentations. Power Point?

Logic Wireless phones are compatible with GSM carriers such as T-Mobile and AT&T . In the future, the company will expand its GSM Carrier network.

While we were doing research for an old stapler and trying to cross reference what staples could be used in this stapler. Counterfeit Inkjet Printing on the Rise

We found this interesting article from the Kansas City Star about how there is an increase in making counterfeit money with inkjet printers. Wow, that is alot of inkjet cartridges.

"The result: Ink-jet counterfeiting accounted for 60 percent of $103 million in fake money removed from circulation from October 2007 to August 2008, the Secret Service reports. In 1995, the figure was less than 1 percent."

Note - President Abraham Lincoln created the Secret Service in 1865 to deal with a crisis which one-third of the nation’s money was counterfeit. Did Abe ever think of an inkjet printer? How many inkjet cartridges does it take to print that amount of money? What is HP's cut on this?

Another Tiny Projector

Dell is getting into the game of the Tiny Projector. We found the lightweight Dell M109S projector coming in at less than a pound.

HP iPrint Photo Compatibility

Which Hewlett Packard printers are compatible with the new iPrint Photo software for the Apple iPhone? We have enclosed a complete list of over 300 compatible printers from HP which you can print directly from your iPhone.

You can get the the free download for wireless printing to you HP printer for your iPhone at the Apple App Store.

Search in the Apple App store for "HP printing", then download.

Downside to this application is that it will only print 4X6 and .jpg photos, no word documents or .pdf files at this time. We are sure updates and additional features will be coming out in the next release.

The upside is that you can print images stored on your iPhone with any of the following HP inkjet printers that are networked or connected to a local WiFi network.

We have also seen a few posts on message boards that they have been successful in printing to a Color LaserJet 4500 printer also. So post the Model of your printer and your review of the Hewlett Packard iPrint for your iPhone.

Polaroid, Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

Straight from their press release, Polaroid long time maker of the Polaroid Cameras and the new Pogo Printer have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

"The financial structuring process and the bankruptcy filing are the result of events at Petters Group Worldwide, the company that has owned Polaroid since 2005. The founder of Petters Group and certain associates are currently under investigation for alleged acts of fraud that have compromised the financial condition of Polaroid and other entities owned by Petters Group. Polaroid and its leadership team are not subjects of the ongoing investigation involving Petters Group."

New Toner SKU from HP

HP Color Laserjet CC530AD Dual Pack Black Print Cartridges are expected to be available for purchase in early 2009. Estimated retail $232.14 for the new dual pack of these cartridges.

After January, the new HP price increase retail will be $244.61.

Even though HP says these cartridges will be hitting the street in January, we are seeing them advertised on quite a few websites now.
